MaxTweaks is a new, independent app that changes system-level settings, so Windows and some antivirus tools may warn you the first time. That's expected for software like this — here's how to get running in seconds.
If a blue SmartScreen box appears, click More info → Run anyway. It shows because the app is new and not yet code-signed — not because anything is wrong.
MaxTweaks needs admin rights to change Windows settings. If it doesn't prompt automatically, right-click MaxTweaks.exe → Run as administrator.
Optimizers that touch the registry, services and power settings can trip antivirus heuristics. If your AV quarantines MaxTweaks, restore the file and add an exclusion for its folder, then reopen it.
The app updates itself — you never re-download from the site. Every update is integrity-checked (SHA-256 + cryptographic signature) before it installs, and refused if anything doesn't match.

Then right-click MaxTweaks.exe → Run as administrator (required to change Windows settings).
